Tourist Auto & Truck Transmissions, Inc., Was established in 1926 by Mr. Edward T. Darby. In 1976, Brent & Charlene Johnson, Ed's daughter & son-in-law, took over and moved the business forward to include their sons, Greg--Service Manager, Mike--Sales Manager, daughter, Rebecca--General Manager, and daughter & son-in-law, Jennifer & Lorin--Internet Marketing. They now carry on the third generation of this family owned and operated company.

In the early years, Tourist Transmission focused on standard transmissions, transfer cases and related drivetrain components. since then, Tourist has expanded its operations to include all makes and models of automatic transmissions, as well as the repair and service of the latest computerized and electronic operations of these units by ATRA certified technicians. We can find your problem and fix it! Parts, old, new and vintage, for repair, restoration and conversion work, are carried in house for our customers' convenience.

To give a top-notch final testing to automatic transmissions built at Tourist, we use a state-of-the-art Dyno-mometer. This machine simulates conditions within the vehicle to catch any problems before the unit is cleared for final install. We warranty all our work.

Tourist welcomes retail customers in family sedans, motorhomes, SUV's and pickup trucks. We have worked hard to build a solid reputation of fast, friendly service to keep you on the road. We also work with garages, providing completed transmissions for them to install. Tourist services and repairs UPS delivery trucks as well as other fleet vehicles.
